Dr. Huai-Chuan Lee, Senior Scientist and QA/QC Manager
Dr. Lee has extensive experience with the company, having been at Onyx for over ten years. Along with holding the position of Senior Scientist of Onyx, Dr. Lee oversees the Quality Assurance and Quality Control department. At Onyx, Dr. Lee has been responsible for the development of measuring procedures for in-process surface figure and parallelism control of various single crystals including YAG, sapphire, YVO4, YLF, GGG, and Spinel. He has defined the necessary and sufficient conditions for forming stress-free composites and developed the optimum heat-treat procedure for obtaining stress-free single crystal composites.

Corinna Meissner, President
Corinna E. Meissner is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A. 1992) and Hastings College of the Law, University of California (J.D., 1995). She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1995. She was a litigation attorney with the firm of Hassard Bonnington LLP for nine years. She manages and develops various government and defense contracts and is involved in commercial sales.

Dr. Helmuth Meissner, Founder and CTO
Dr. Meissner founded Onyx Optics, Inc. in 1992 and has extensive experience in providing leadership in the pursuit and commercialization of innovative technical ideas starting from concept to final product. Dr. Meissner is the inventor of diffusion bonding of single crystals for laser and optical applications, of solid state laser components with undoped end sections and waveguide lasers. His work in materials science and composite solid state lasers has led to 6 issued U.S. patents on solid state lasers employing diffusion or optically bonded crystal or glass components. These composite structures of crystals and glasses have been recognized throughout the world as a new design tool for solid state laser engineering that have enabled power scaling and laser performance inaccessible with conventional non-composite architectures.

Stephanie Meissner, CEO and Production Manager
Stephanie is responsible for supervising all aspects of Onyx’s financial strategies, processes, and operations. Her key focus is to continue to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of Onyx's manufacturing in order to meet and exceed customer needs. Stephanie is also responsible for the administration of government contracts. She is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (BA, 1997) and Regis University (MBA, 2007).

Lesley Reo, Sales & Marketing Manager
Lesley currently directs the sale of all AFB® components for commercial and defense applications, both nationally and internationally. She is often present at industry events and is the main point-of-contact for obtaining an Onyx quotation. Lesley also contributes to the creation and implementation of advertising, promotional, and marketing strategies for the company. She is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (BS, 2003) and has been with Onyx for over four years.

Dr. Xiaodong Mu, Manager - Research and Development
Dr. Mu has extensive experience in solid state lasers, nonlinear optics, and semiconductor nanostructures. He directs the research and development of novel optoelectronic components and devices utilizing Onyx Optics' AFB(R) technique and is available as a consultant for the design of nonlinear optical and solid state laser composite components.
